#MakingWavesWednesdays
Player of the Week
Wednesday, March 29th, 2023
This week we will be featuring the following players:
HS Player: Kirina Azemar ’23
Kirina Azemar, 5’5, Class of 2023 is from Westbury, New York.
What Kirina lacks in height, she makes up for in athleticism with her vertical and speed. Kirina is a lefty shooter who regularly hits her shots mid range and beyond. Her ball handling skills are up to par. Azemar this past year has been working hard on pushing the offense to the right and finishing at the rim with her right hand. Her defensive anticipation is timely. Kirina’s vertical accompanies her IQ where she is able to block shots and grab rebounds.
Azemar was the #1 scorer in public school for Nassau County finishing with an average of 30.9 points per game. She reached her 1,000th point milestone this year. Kirina was named team captain this year to go along with her other accolades such as:
- 2022-2023 Newsday Top 10 Guards
- 2022-2023 Newsday Top 100 Player
- 4x MVP
- 2x All County Player
- 1x All Conference Player
Kirina has a 3.0 GPA and looking to study Sports Management in college.
