Amoni Byrd
Amoni Byrd 5’9 Class of 2022 from Bayside, NY is a powerful and skilled team player. She is mainly a shooting guard, however, Amoni can handle the ball being the point guard, and also battle inside standing in as a small forward.
Amoni has immense skill, a high basketball IQ, superb court vision and A LOT of athleticism. Amoni can do it all on the court, but she is an unselfish player using her court vision to create opportunities for her teammates. Amoni’s strength along with her athleticism makes her a powerful player. She grabs rebounds on the defensive end and is able to convert offensively by pushing the ball up to her teammates or taking it coast to coast herself. Amoni’s shot is lethal from the three. When driving to the basket, Amoni has next level finish moves scoring comfortably. She also cleans up on the offensive boards scoring from put backs.
Amoni is a four year varsity starter at Archbishop Molloy High School. She was selected as a player for the 2021 Dyckman Unlimited Team. In 2019, Amoni Byrd was named as an All City CHSAA Team Player.
Amoni has been a volunteer for the Dyckman Basketball Organization the past six years. She has also been an Academic Tutor for Spanish and Math throughout high school.. Amoni consistently has qualified for the High School Principal Honor Roll since her sophomore year. She has completed courses such as AP History (9th – 12th grade), English Honors (9th – 12th grade) and Scholar Spanish (11th & 12th grade). Amoni is also a member of the National Honor Society.
